Lakeland opens new dairy export centre in Northern Ireland

Lakeland Dairies has completed an &pound8 million investment in a
new Global Logistics Centre at Pritchitt's in Northern Ireland, the
Irish dairy co-operative's major dairy foodservice manufacturing
plant.

Using milk sourced directly from local farming suppliers, Lakeland
Dairies markets 170 high quality dairy foodservice and food
ingredient products to over 70 countries worldwide, exporting close to 100 per cent of its entire production capacity to global markets.
The major new Global Logistics Centre will underpin the
co-operative's current and future export-led growth. The centre is
highly automated with new technology, robotic systems, over 14,000
individual pallet spaces and a simultaneous loading capacity for up to 11 forty-foot container vehicles at any one time.

Located at the Newtownards county Down, the manufacturing site has
state-of-the-art technology making a wide range of value-added dairyfoodservice products - ice cream mixes, UHT milk, milk portions,
flavoured milks, added value dairy creams, powdered desserts,
cappuccino toppings, ice cream powder and many more.

Based at Killeshandra in the Republic of Ireland, Lakeland Dairies
is a farmer owned dairy co-operative. This development forms part ofthe strategic investments made in processing capacity and economies of scale to ensure maximum competitiveness and market access for itsmilk producers in the years ahead.

The new Global Logistics Centre at Newtownards is among the most
technically advanced facilities in Europe and it will serve milk
producers efficiently and long into the future.
