Mash Direct healthy Nourish Bowls for Dunnes Stores

Mash Direct, the Northern Ireland specialist in vegetable sides and convenience meals, is to supply its recently launched Nourish Bowls, to selected Dunnes Stores across the Republic of Ireland.

The Nourish Bowls, a healthy lunch-time option, are available in three tasty varieties - Taste of China, Taste of Morocco, and Taste of Italy and are being listed by Dunnes initially for 12 Dunnes Stores throughout the Republic of Ireland, a key market for the company which is based on the family farm at Comber, county Down. Mash Direct's Nourish Bowls retail at around £2.99.

The bowls, launched earlier in the month, are already available in SuperValu, Centra, Mace, Nisa and independent stores across Northern Ireland.

The convenient bowls feature salads each with an accompanying spicy dip and are the result of work by the company in its development kitchen over two years. The three bowls join over 40 products in the existing Mash Direct range.

A pioneer of convenient and healthy vegetable side-dishes, the sixth-generation farm business is run by husband and wife team Martin and Tracy Hamilton with sons Jack and Lance and has become a market leader in convenience dishes.

The company has won a series of UK Great Taste Awards and last year was gained the Food Manufacturing Excellence Award.

Creating the concept of the Nourish Bowls came from consumer feedback at food shows throughout the year. The Nourish Bowls each boast a specific number of a daily portion of fruit and vegetables.

Jack Hamilton, commenting on the new product, says: "We have found that people want a healthy lunch option that they can pick up off the shelf or even eat on the go.

"All of Mash Direct's products are gluten-free and don't have any red traffic lights, so, our customers know that they are eating our products which are good for them.

"The best thing about these Nourish Bowls is that they offer relief from the normal, boring sandwiches at your work desk and they help consumers achieve their recommended portions of fruit and veg for the day."
