Bushmills Distillery backs Northern Irish whiskey festival

Award-winning Bushmills Irish Whiskey is backing a major food and drink festival in Northern Ireland.

The distillery is backing the Bushmills Salmon and Whiskey Festival held in the county Antrim town where the company has been based for centuries.

The distillery is said to be the world's oldest licensed distillery.

Celebrity chef Paula McIntyre has also been confirmed as the special guest at this year's popular community festival.

The celebration returns on Saturday 9th June and 10th June promising two days of great entertainment.

Alongside the 'foodie' focus, visitors can expect live music and dance performances and an array of the very best of handcrafted products at Naturally North Coast and Glens Artisan Market. There'll also be a family fun zone and street performers throughout the weekend.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Councillor Joan Baird said: "Bushmills is known across the world for its salmon and whiskey so we are delighted to work with the local community to celebrate this during what promises to be a terrific two-day festival.

"The programme of events on offer will really bring the story of the village to life and we are looking forward to sharing it with our visitors over the weekend."

At Bushmills Distillery, the oldest working facility of its kind in Ireland, will cover four centuries of history.

The festival marquee will host a 'Bushmills Banquet' organised by members of Bushmills Business Association. This collaborative event will celebrate the very best of the region's food, drink and warm hospitality.
