Crawford's Food Sells Breakfast Luxury Online with Amazon

Crawford's Food, the Northern Irish manufacturer of luxury breakfast granolas, has won business for its handmade cereal products online with Amazon UK.

The small company, formed by husband and wife team David and Jill Crawford in 2010 and based in Portaferry, county Down, began supplying its complete range of 'Just Live a Little' branded granolas to Amazon at the end of March.

The contract with Amazon was announced by David Crawford, Crawford's Food's managing director. The Northern Irish company also recently secured its first sales to Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia with one of the region's biggest supermarket chains.

Mr Crawford, commenting on the firm's latest contract, said: "Winning business with Amazon is extremely important because it is a marvellous endorsement of the quality of our breakfast granolas and is also our first online selling platform.

"It's a very opportune contract because we've been considering our own e-commerce website for some time.

"Amazon, of course, has tremendous marketing muscle and great awareness among shoppers. Being listed on this site, which also has longstanding, robust and reliable payment systems, enables us to reach a much wider audience throughout the UK than would be possible via our own website.

"Our aim is to build on this exciting relationship with Amazon in the UK and to work towards listings on the online retailer's other international sites."

Crawford's Food secured the business following a meeting with a food supplier to the leading online retailer which is developing a portfolio of ambient food. The Northern Irish company manufactures a range of handcrafted breakfast cereals including crunchy granola, apple and cinnamon, and cranberry and coconut.

The company currently supplies Tesco NI and Hastings Hotels, as well as delis and farm shops throughout Northern Ireland and speciality GB food retailers such as Partridges in London.
