OCADO lists Fivemiletown Boilie artisan goat's cheese


Fivemiletown Creamery, the Northern Irish artisan cheese producer, has won a listing from top on-line retailer OCADO for its range of award winning and unique Boilie goat's cheese.



OCADO shoppers are now able to enjoy Fivemiletown's three traditional Irish Boilie hand rolled products - original goat's cheese pearls with herbs and garlic infused oil, goat's cheese pearls filled with basil pesto and goat's cheese pearls filled with tomatoes and herbs.



The three products have been developed for convenience meals such as pasta and have won international recognition for quality and innovation in cheese competitions including the UK Great Taste Awards, the Yorkshire Agricultural Show and the Nantwich International Cheese Festival.



The listing forBoilie cheeses follows the success of other Fivemiletown products such as its handcrafted soft cheeses, creamy cheddars and butter on the OCADO shopping site over the past year.



Peter Dunlop, Fivemiletown Creamery's Marketing Manager, commenting on the company's latest listing by OCADO, says: "Gaining a listing on such a successful online shopping site for ourBoilie cheeses is immensely important and reflects the growing popularity of these artisan products particularly in Great Britain.



Boilie cheeses are now widely accepted as an ideal ingredient for delicious meals.



"OCADO is proving to be an extremely important to the creamery in terms of direct sales to shoppers especially in the Home Counties. We've seen significant growth over the past year in sales of our speciality cheeses in particular.



Fivemiletown Creamery, established in 1898 as a farmers' cooperative in county Tyrone's Clogher Valley, has been selling dairy products in Britain since 1900.



The creamery employs 40 people and sources high protein milk from a long established network of around 80 dairy farmers in Northern Ireland.



"Our strategy is to expand relationships with OCADO and other key retailers in target markets in Britain for our range of innovative cheese products," he adds.



Headquartered in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, OCADO is the UK's leading online grocery retailer. The company reported sales of £642 million last year - up 16.6 per cent on the previous year - and delivers around groceries every week to over 100,000 customers.



The publicly quoted company was founded in January 2002 and operates from a purpose-built picking warehouse, purely online without any physical shops.



OCADO operates in England's South East ,South Coast, Midlands, North West and most of Yorkshire. It also serves customers in South West and South Wales from its Avonmouth based regional distribution centre and investing £210 million in a new warehouse at Dordon in Warwickshire.
