Northern Irish baby food firm targets growth in France and Dubai

Award-winning Heavenly Tasty Organics, the Northern Irish manufacturer of frozen organic baby weaning meals, has rebranded and launched new products in a drive to turn enquiries from Britain, France and the Emirates into firm business.

The company, which is based in Omagh, county Tyrone and recently listed by Tesco, is following up new business approaches to supply its 11-strong range of baby weaning meals, which are 100 per cent natural, following its participation at the SIAL food show in Paris.

New branding and packaging have been developed by the company, formed in 2011 by mother of two young children Shauna McCarney, for international markets.

Heavenly Tasty Organics is aiming to build on the success it is experiencing in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland for an established range of fruit and vegetable purees for weaning babies.

To strengthen its market position, the company is introducing a six-strong range of little meals aimed at babies from seven to nine months. All of the company's 11-strong range are dairy free and 100 per cent organic. Nine are also gluten-free.

Shauna McCarney, Heavenly Tasty's managing director, says: "We've undergone a major rebrand that has given the company a very strong and professional identity that we believe will be key in competing with larger baby food companies and attract attention particularly in markets outside Northern Ireland.

"Our objective is to accelerate the growth of the business by focusing on opportunities that we've already pinpointed in other European and international markets."

Heavenly Tasty Organics has already won an impressive cluster of major awards for enterprise, innovation and quality from organisations including the Soil Association, the leading body for organic products, Women in Business in Northern Ireland, and Maternity and Infant magazine in the Republic of Ireland.

"We are confident that the growth strategy that we are currently implementing will result in the products being on the shelves in Britain, France and the United Arab Emirates before the end of 2013," she adds.

The company's products include lentil and chicken blend; lentil and vegetable soup; and pasta and tomato for babies aged seven. For babies aged nine months and beyond, the products featured are minced beef and potato; spaghetti Bolognese; and chicken curry.
