Our Daily Bread

Belfast-based artisan bakery Our Daily Bread was founded in 2012 by Melanie Gilfillan and specialises in fresh wheaten and soda breads and mixes for home baking enthusiasts.

The company's range includes a 'Bake it Yourself Wheaten & Soda bread, longstanding traditional Irish breads and is planning to add a similar potato bread product.

The company's wheaten bread gained Great Taste Awards in 2013 and 2014 and is also sold in the Republic of Ireland as well as in delis and independent retailers in Northern Ireland.

In June 2015, the company launched 'Twice Baked Irish Wheaten Toasts' as an accompaniment for cheese, pate or dips. The new Toasts are pure wheaten and do not contain yeast, artificial flavourings or preservatives. They are also virtually fat-free. All the ingredients, which include wholemeal, course ground flour, wheatgerm and dried buttermilk, are sourced from Northern Ireland suppliers. They are supplied in 90g packs and retail at £3.00. The crisp bread thins, are twice baked to bring out the natural nutty flavours and are perfect for cheeseboards especially goat's cheese.

We have been supplying the Duty Free in Belfast International Airport and we would quite often do tastings for them.
