Artisan sauce producer in deal with Musgrave retail

Peppup, the award winning Northern Irish high-end ketchup producer, has won business with Musgraves for its SuperValu and Centra
convenience stores.

The company, based at Newtownards in county Down, is supplying two
products from its innovative range of sauces - Roasted Peppers and
Tomato and Roasted Peppers and Tomato with Chilli.

Peppup, founded in 2014 by Luca Montorio, a native of Turin now
resident in Northern Ireland, secured the first business with
Musgrave following extensive discussions and product tastings.

The latest retail contract follows earlier business with Booth's
Supermarkets in England and with leading delis and independents in
Northern Ireland for the products which have gained UK Great Taste
Awards this year and in 2014.

Luca Montorio developed the recipes for the three-strong range - it also includes a reduced sugar and low salt ketchup - from his
upbringing in Turin.

"Securing my first contract from Musgrave's for the SuperValu and
Centra stories is a marvellous boost for the business. My aim is nowto support the confidence shown in the Peppup products by this
important convenience retailer by holding a series of tastings for
consumers.

"I want to introduce as many shoppers as possible to Peppup's
deliciously different ketchup flavours. My experience of tastings
with retailers such as Booths and Tesco is that once shoppers
experience the Peppup ketchups they then buy the product.

"The main ingredients roasted pepper and tomato give the ketchup a
very distinctive and rich flavour. It's a great alternative to
conventional ketchup, an intense flavour made with a few simple
ingredients.

"In addition to roasted pepper, the only ingredients are tomato,
sugar, salt and vinegar. Peppup is also an authentic Italian and
versatile sauce, a wonderful complement to favourite dishes such
as chicken, burgers or eggs," he adds.
