Northern Ireland's Abernethy Butter wins major hotels contract

Abernethy Butter, Northern Ireland's handmade butter business, has
won a contract to its full range of butters to a leading hotels
group in Britain.

The award-winning specialist in hand crafted and hand rolled buttersis now supplying the Principal Hayley Group (PH Group), which is
headquartered in Harrogate in Yorkshire and has properties,
including the Palace Hotel in Manchester, throughout Great Britain.

Abernethy, an artisan business run by husband and wife team Will andAllison Abernethy, is supplying its original, smoked and dulse and sea salt butters to the PH Group. The deal follows a direct approachfrom PH Group to Abernethy, which is based at Dromara in county
Down.

Allison Abernethy, commenting on the latest business for its butters, says: "We are delighted to have won business from the PH Group,
now an immensely important hotel chain in the North of England and
Scotland.

"It's another tremendous endorsement of our products by a leader in the hospitality sector that we've targeted for growth in Britain,
our most important market. We are currently supplying our butters
to other hospitality industry leaders in Britain such as Heston
Blumenthal, Marcus Wareing and Andy McFadden."

The PH Group is a leading hotel and conference venue operator with 23 locations in Britain. The group's hotels include Sunningdale Park in Berkshire as well as the Bonham and George in Edinburgh.

Abernethy Butter churns, rolls and packs its butters by hand. The
company has won a series of UK Great Taste Awards and recently
gained a silver medal in the recent Blas na hEireann, Irish Food
Awards 2015 for its smoked butter.

It also secured business recently with Fenwicks in Newcastle upon
Tyne and from Butler's Pantry in Dublin. It is an established
supplier to Fortnum and Mason in London.
