Free'ist, a winner of a Blas na hEireann gold award for its caramel crunch popcorn, is supplying Applegreen with its sugar-free
chocolate bars, popcorn and marshmallows for its network of
forecourt stories across Ireland. Several of the products are also
gluten-free.

Gerard McAdorey, Free'ist chief executive, commenting on the deal
with Applegreen, says: "We are delighted to win this business with
Applegreen because it will strengthen our position substantially in the Irish market, now one of our most important markets. Applegreen is a very dynamic, quality conscious and consumer focused company.

"They were attracted by the potential of our extensive portfolio of sugar-free and gluten-free jams, biscuits, chocolates, popcorn and
marshmallows in their forecourt stores. We will be working closely
with the Applegreen team in marketing the products to attract
'grab'n'go' consumers in particular. Our snacks meet consumer
demands for sugar-free snacks in particular," he adds.

Applegreen has more than 150 sites across the UK and Ireland, is
planning to expand its network which includes over 90 service
stations in Ireland including a recently opened complex at
Templepatrick in county Antrim. Applegreen is also developing
another Northern Ireland complex on the region's M1 motorway.

Since entering the UK market in 2008 Applegreen has grown to open 54service stations and has also opened three sites in Long Island,
North America, the first step in US roll-out plans. Applegreen is
geared up to open another 20 sites across the UK and Ireland a year in the near future.

The Free'ist products, developed by GM Marketing, a leading food
distributor in the UK and Ireland, are aimed to meet the growing
demand for tasty treats especially by consumers with conditions suchas diabetes. In addition, the range that includes several products that are gluten-free,

The Free'ist range includes four cookies - Hazelnut, Choco chip,
Choco striped peanut cookies and coconut cookies; four chocolate
biscuits - smooth milk choc, hazelnut choc, rich dark choc, and
white strawberry choc; chocolate wafer bars and chocolate wafer
sticks; and three jams - strawberry, raspberry and marmalade as wellas popcorn and marshmallows.

GM Marketing has experience over 15 years in the UK and Ireland as
a marketer of a broad range of branded foods, such as Typhoo Tea,
Tilda Rice, and Nestle cereals, in both Northern Ireland and the
Republic of Ireland

Launched in 2012 by GM, Free'ist customers include Tesco Ireland,
Dunne's and Musgrave's in Ireland and Holland and Barrett in the UK.
