Northern Irish Dunbia wins Coop 'supplier of the Year' Award

Dunbia Group, Northern Ireland's biggest meat processor, has won a major award from the Coop in recognition of the quality of its products and customer service.

The award was part of the Coop's Farming and Food Pioneer Awards and followed an earlier award in the SuperMeat and Fish Awards for 'Best Product New to Market' for its Quick Cook Beef Joint for the Coop. The award reflects the Coop's aim to deliver 100 per cent British meat.

Dunbia shared the Coop 'Supplier of the Year Award' with other food producers Tulip and ABP UK.

The Pioneer Awards are designed to recognize and reward those who support the Coop in pioneering "a different way of doing business".

Headquartered at Dungannon in county Tyrone, Dunbia is now among the most successful meat processors in the UK and has a fast developing export business to Europe and further afield.

Over the last decade, the Pioneer Awards (formerly CRTG Supplier Awards) have become established as a key date in the industry's event calendar. During the last nine years, the Coop has worked closely with suppliers and colleagues to promote British farming and food and to raise a huge amount of money for our local community charity partners.

The coveted awards were announced at a major industry event in Manchester.

Dunbia Group, now one of Europe's largest processors of beef and lamb, takes pride in its long-term partnerships with suppliers and customers. It employs around 3,000 people in Northern Ireland.

The group, which announced a strategic joint venture with Dawn Meats in the Republic of Ireland, has processing operations throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
