Delicious new bacon from award-winning Hannan Meats

Delicious Black Bacon has been developed by Hannan Meats, Northern Ireland's multi-award-winning catering butcher.

The innovative bacon is being marketed under the company's established Moyallon brand and features a unique curing process. The back and streaky bacon is cured in Irish stout and black treacle then aged in the company's Himalayan salt chambers.

The latest bacon from Hannan Meats, which is headed by Peter Hannan and is based in Moira, county Armagh, is the first in a series of pork products currently being developed by the innovation-led business.

Hannan Meats is the most successful company ever in the UK Great Taste Awards and a winner of Blas na hEireann, National Irish Food Awards.

"We have expanded our meat curing activities with a key appointment who is specialising in this important and growing part of the business. Award-winning chef Paul Clarke is also actively involved in creating a range of new products, including our richly flavoured black bacon. I expect there to be many more in the not too distant future," says Mr Hannan, founder and managing director of Hannan Meats.

"The flavour of the new black bacon is fantastic. While it's just been launched, the bacon is proving extremely popular and attracting extremely positive feedback," he adds.
