Singapore deal oils Paradox's growth


Northern Ireland's Paradox Oil, producer of unique nutritional supplements for babies and adults, has won its first export business. The company, based in Belfast, has won business from Singapore for its 100 per cent natural Omega oil product for babies and toddlers. Paradox Omega Oil is a natural source of Omega 3,6 and 9 specially formulated for babies and toddlers between six months and six years. It has won business from a pharmacy operation in Singapore.



The formulation of deep sea fish oil, lemon oil and polyphenol oil antioxidants from extra virgin olive oil means it not only words harder inside the youngsters, it is also tasteless, so is easily concealed with food, yoghurts and smoothies.



The export success builds on the company's position in the United Kingdom as a supplier to Holland and Barrett, selected Boots stores, independent pharmacies and health stores. The company has also received positive feedback from marketing trips to Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates.



Michelle Hayhurst, who founded the company with husband Dr Geoff Hayhurst, a leading osteopath, said the company is implementing a growth strategy based on developing business abroad.



"The growth we need to expand the company can best be achieved through international sales. We've taken part in several overseas marketing initiatives including a trade mission to Hong Kong and gained immensely important feedback.



"While we've still got huge opportunities in the UK and Ireland for the products, competition in the supplements industry is intense and we recognise that we've got to move into other markets for to expand business," she adds.



Paradox has also been boosted by recent scientific research by the University of Ulster's School of Biomedical Sciences which endorsed the health benefits of company's blend of omega 3 fish oil and virgin olive oil.



The company uses fish oils are harvested by one of the world's finest quality providers and filtered using a patented process, pioneered by Dr Hayhurst, that keeps the omegas is the best state whilst removing any impurities.



The fish oils are blended with special antioxidants only found in olives. Other natural ingredients include an organic lemon oil that adds not only a little zing to the oil, but also makes the flavour fresh, clean and palatable.
