Northern Ireland flavours Great Taste menu at London's Cadogan Hotel

Three award winning foods from Northern Irish producers feature on the unique Great Taste Menu at the upmarket Cadogan Hotel in Sloane Square, London.

Included in the hotel's menu are guanciale from Hannan Meats, Moira, county Down, and two from McCartney's the leading butchery/deli business which is also based in Moira - sweet corned pork and corned beef hash.

Guanciale, pig's jowl, was crowned Supreme Champion 2012/13 in the Great Taste Awards, organised annually by the UK Guild of Fine Food. McCartney's silverside-based corned beef was Supreme Champion in 2011/12. The company also gained top ranking, three gold stars, for its corned beef and sweet corned pork in 2012/13.

Hannan Meats, a leading catering butcher, also gained a record 26 gold stars for a range of products including bacon and beef in this year's awards.

The Great Taste Menu features in the elegant and sophisticated Cadogan restaurant. The menu has been developed by Evening Standard restaurant critic Fay Maschler and chef sister, Ben Coventry, for the Knightsbridge hotel.

Fay and Beth worked with Oliver Lesnik, Head Chef at The Cadogan, and his team to devise a menu that incorporates and capitalises on the products that scored most highly in the Great Taste Awards this year. These three-star Gold products - "the epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize" - are the cream of quality performance from small impassioned producers.

The Cadogan and the Great Taste Awards teamed up to create a showcase restaurant highlighting award-winning quality food from across the UK. For nearly two decades, the Great Taste Awards have been regarded as the ultimate food industry accolade.
