Second Top 50 Great Taste Award for En Place

En Place (UK), the Northern Irish specialist in condiments, sauces and jams, has won a second listing in the prestigious Top 50 Foods. The small company, based in Cookstown, county Tyrone, gained the latest award for its Sea Salt Caramel with Pollen sauce. It follows an earlier listing for its uniquely flavoured Sea Buckthorn Berry and Lime Jam.

Referring to the Sea Salt Caramel sauce, the citation said: "The balance of flavours, particularly the subtle fennel, convinced the judges to award this caramel sauce with Irish sea salt and hand picked pollen.

"A riot of flavours in remarkable balance. Unctious and unbelievably moreish," they added.

The Top 50 Foods is part of the Great Taste Awards organised annually by the influential UK Guild of Fine Food.

The two listed products were developed by Paul Clarke, En Place managing director and an experienced chef. The company, partly owned by Peter Hannan, managing director of Hannan Meats in Moira, county Down, winner of 44 gold awards, seven in the top three star category, three of which have also been listed in the Top 50 Foods.

En Place supplies its range of condiments and jams to leading retailers and delis in the UK.
