Northern Irish Glenarm Organic Salmon on Jamie Oliver channel

Northern Ireland's Glenarm Organic Salmon is showcased in a new Jamie Oliver Food Tube video

In the video, Dutch chef and Food Tube presenter Bart van Olphen - who has his own YouTube channel called Bart's Fish Tales - highlights Glenarm Organic Salmon against a background of the Antrim coastline, where the company, Northern Ireland's only salmon farm is located. It's also the only salmon farm in the Atlantic.

The six-minute film, which has already had over 50,000 views, is Tourism Ireland's latest promotion to highlight Northern Ireland and the Year of Food and Drink. In the film, viewers see presenter Bart prepare a pan-seared organic salmon fillet, using Glenarm Organic Salmon. The film features footage of some of attractions including the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and the Giant's Causeway.

With some 22 million monthly views, Jamie Oliver's Food Tube is one of the most successful food channels online. The Glenarm video is being promoted on Food Tube's social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, using #EnjoyNI.

It's the second Food Tube video to be created in conjunction with Tourism Ireland; last month, a video showcasing Fermanagh and featuring chef and broadcaster John Quilter, aka Food Busker, with Pat O'Doherty of O'Doherty's Fine Meats in Enniskillen.

The organic salmon farm ships fresh salmon daily and all year round by air to chefs in high-end restaurants and hotels. Around 75 per cent of its production is now sent to wholesalers in the US, Europe, the Emirates and Asia, principally Singapore. It has recently launched a premium smoked salmon which has been listed by Fortnum and Mason in London.

Glenarm Organic Salmon harvests, processes and dispatches all its fresh salmon within 24 hours. It is able to ship products across the world in just three to four days, ensuring a fresher product and longer shelf-life for the retailer and consumer.

The company has been in business since 1989 and is the only organic salmon producer in the north east of Ireland. The small company is located near the historic village of Glenarm in the picturesque Glens of Antrim.

The small company farms around 500 tonnes of premium organic salmon annually and sells every fish it products, the overwhelming majority to customers in international markets.

The farms are in situated in Glenarm Bay and Red Bay on the Antrim coast and separated by 11 miles of fast flowing coastal seawater. Each farm is stocked with a different generation of organically reared smolts from local suppliers.

The company uses only organic ingredients from a nearby feedmill in line with its focus on rearing salmon to the OFF's strict requirements and the RSPCA's 'Five Freedoms' to ensure the maintenance of the highest standards.
