TASTY PIES FROM A SPECIALIST IN HOMEMADE READY MEALS

Northern Ireland based ready meals specialist, Tasty Foods (Cuisine), has created a range of homemade pies for leading retailers and foodservice organisations. Among launch customers for the quality pies produced by the Belfast-based company are Dunne's, Asda and Musgraves. The company's Tasty branded pies feature a range of quality ingredients from Northern Ireland suppliers and are available in four varieties ??" mince and onion, steak and vegetable, steak and stout, and creamy chicken. The pies have all been developed from recipes created by Conor Daykin, an experienced chef and managing director of Taste Foods. Mr Daykin, managing director of Tasty Foods, commenting on the new products, says: ???The pies are a logical development of our successful chilled meals and sauces. Market research and feedback from clients including major retailers highlighted a steadily developing opportunity for pies that offered the same characteristics of as homemade products ??" pies richly filled with only the best, locally sourced ingredients. ???The demand for different pies is a further indication that people are increasingly eating at home and are seeking ready made meals that are convenient and easily prepared. ???Feedback from sampling sessions has been very positive, and we are confident that the new range will lead to a significant increase in our business in target markets such as the Republic of Ireland,??? he adds. The pies are currently produced in 800g family sizes. The company will shortly provide the products in 2.7kg catering packs. Tasty Foods (Cuisine) Ltd was established in 1990 and has an established reputation for quality and flavour-rich chilled ready meals; chilled catering pack meals; ambient sauces; fresh chilled soups and garlic bread. The company already supplies both the retail and foodservice markets and key customers include Curley's, Dunnes, Haslett's, Henderson's and Nisa. It has an established customer base in the Republic of Ireland. Tasty Foods operates from a 10,000 sq ft state-of-the-art production facility in Belfast and has a longstanding commitment to new product development. The facility is HACCP and BRC accredited.
