Award winning tastes from Northern Ireland at Food and Hospitality Ireland
Winning tastes from enterprising and innovative companies will be
showcased on the Northern Ireland Naturally presentation (Stand D15) at the The Speciality & Fine Food Fair which launches this year at the Food & Hospitality Ireland show, Sept 16-17, in Dublin's RDS.
The stand, organised by Invest Northern Ireland, the region's
business development body, will showcase food and drink from this
year's Great Taste Award winning companies which gained 200 gold
stars in the recent competition from the influential UK Guild of
Fine Food.
Included in the showcase will be venison that led to three-stars
being awarded to Baronscourt Estate Venison from Omagh, County
Tyrone. The unique product was subsequently included in the Top 50
Foods.
More than 20 of the food and drink products from Northern Ireland onshow achieved two stars in the annual event, sponsored by high-end
retailer Harrods and the most important in the United Kingdom.
Commenting on the presentation, Shane McArdle, Invest NI's Food
Business Development Manager in the Republic of Ireland, said:
"Food and Hospitality Ireland is an important platform for our
companies, especially artisan enterprises and smaller businesses,
seeking to sell their products in the Republic and further afield.
"Food shows in the Republic have proved very successful for our
companies over many years and many have gained their first business outside Northern Ireland at these events which attract buyers from
virtually all the country's retailers.
"The success of our companies at such events has resulted in our biggest-ever presentation at Food and Hospitality Ireland. Our NorthernIreland Naturally stand features a comprehensive display of
original food and drink offering innovation and, above, all
outstanding taste. The Republic is also our most important market
after Great Britain.
"The products meet the aspirations of consumers in the Republic for different taste experiences from producers with a strong commitment to quality, innovation and customer services," he added.
The quality and originality of Northern Ireland food and drink will be highlighted and celebrated next year during the region's
first-ever 'Year of Food', a year-long programme of events designed to promote tourism and boost sales at home and abroad.
Many of the producers showing on the Northern Ireland Naturally
stand will also be at the show.
