Genesis Crafty in Northern Ireland poised for faster growth
Genesis Crafty parent company, McErlain's Bakery in Northern Irelandhas reported an 11 per cent sales increase, mostly in Britain and
the Republic of Ireland, to £15 million.
Based at Magherafelt in Co Derry, the family owned and run business expects to see improved performance with planned new products.
"The company believes that performance will continue to improve as aresult of ongoing research and development into new products,"
according to the company's annual report.
The report said. "The directors anticipate that 2015 will generate
greater turnover than 2014 due to new contracts and product lines
with existing customers and an increased margin will be achieved."
The company's buns, cakes, pancakes and traditional Irish breads aresold at major retailers such as Ocado, Waitrose and Sainsbury's as
well as independent symbol groups such as Centra, Costcutter and
Spar.
McErlain's is run by six brothers, all qualified bakers.
