BEST NEW SUPPLIER AWARD FOR FIVEMILETOWN
Northern Ireland based Fivemiletown Creamery has gained the coveted ???New Supplier of the Year Award' from Sainsburys. The award is in recognition for Fivemiletown's Taste the Difference Ballyoak for Sainsburys and the new An Brie Beag, ???the small brie' that was supplied exclusively to the supermarket leader last Christmas. The latest award was presented at a gala dinner in London for suppliers. Accepting the award, Fivemiletown Creamery's sales manager Kevin McManus said: ???We have been working with the Sainsbury team over the past 12 months to launch our award winning Ballyoak under their premium Taste the Difference range. It is now available across the UK and has been well received by consumers. ???An Brie Beag was developed as a Christmas line for Sainsburys and was a top performer for the supermarket last year. We are hopeful of further products coming on stream later this year,??? he added. Fivemiletown Creamery now has two products in the Taste the Difference range. In addition to Ballyoak, a natural smoked brie, Fivemiletown's cheddar is available in the range. The smoked brie is smoked on site using oak wood from local forests specially selected on behalf of the creamery. The cheese is also made from milk supplied by local dairy farmers. Fivemiletown Creamery which is based in County Tyrone now supplies cheese to customers in markets as diverse as the US and Hong Kong.
