Abernethy wins business at London's Holborn Dining Room
The prestigious Holborn Dining Room in London, part of the
international Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, is now using handmade
butter from Northern Ireland's Abernethy Butter.
The restaurant, which has an impressive reputation for serving the
very best seasonal and locally sourced British cuisine, is serving
the Abernethy range of three handmade and hand rolled butters -
original, smoked and seaweed with sea salt.
Based in a former Pearl Assurance banking hall, the Holborn Dining
Room is regarded as one of the most distinctive and stylish
restaurants in central London.
Abernethy, a multi-award winning artisan business run by husband andwife team Will and Allison Abernethy, has won a series of contracts
from top British restaurants for its range of butters. The small
business is based at Dromara in county Down and now sells around 80 per cent of its products outside Northern Ireland, mostly in Great
Britain.
Will Abernethy, commenting on the business with Holborn Dining Room,says: "This is another very prestigious customer for us and a
further endorsement of the outstanding taste and premium quality of our product range.
"Holborn Dining Room is among the most highly regarded restaurants
in Britain which also has an encouraging commitment to locally
sourced products such as our butters."
The deal with Holborn Dining Room establishes Abernethy as a leadingsupplier of hand crafted butters to high-end restaurants in Britain.Other clients include the PH Group of hotels, Heston Blumenthal,
Marcus Wareing and Andy McFadden.
It also secured business recently with Fenwicks in Newcastle upon
Tyne and from Butler's Pantry in Dublin. It is an established
supplier to Fortnum and Mason in London.
Abernethy Butter churns, rolls and packs its butters by hand. The
company has won a series of UK Great Taste Awards and recently
gained a silver medal in the recent Blas na hEireann, Irish Food
Awards 2015 for its smoked butter.
