Germany breakthrough for Northern Irish Keen Nutrition
Keen Nutrition, the Northern Irish specialist in nut butters, has
won its first export business in Germany.
The artisan business, which is based at Bangor in county Down, has
supplied an initial order of nut butter products to Foodist, a
gourmet box-out subscription business that is based in Hamburg.
Aimee Beimers, a Canadian-born nutritionist who founded Keen
Nutrition in 2013 to develop a portfolio of healthy nut butters,
says: "We were approached by Boxist to supply products for their
delivery to subscribers in January. It's a rapidly developing
business that has a base of subscribers interested in gourmet
products.
"We were delighted to provide products and are hopeful that it will prove successful and lead to long-term business in Germany, an
important market for quality gourmet products especially those for
health conscious consumers," she adds.

almond, hazelnut and pecan. It includes Harvey Nichols in Britain
among its customers. Plans are in place to expand production at the factory through investment in new machinery. It employs five people and is currently producing 9,000 jars a month.

Boxist has experienced strong growth over the last two years and hasincreased the number of monthly subscribers from 350 to as many as
14,000.
Each month, subscribers enjoy an exclusive selection of
international delicacies delivered to their doors. The market leaderin food box subscriptions, Foodist generated ˆ1,438,157 in revenues in the first quarter of 2015. It has raised finance through
