Designer Juicery Launched by Northern Irish Processor

A unique designer juicery has been launched by Mango Street in
Northern Ireland that offers a bespoke on-line service to fresh
juice lovers.

The small business, set up as a social enterprise by Colin Mackey,
a graphic designer, has introduced a unique 'My Way: Custom Blends' service that enables juice enthusiasts to create their own blends
on-line and also to choose the quantity they want to purchase. The
company cold presses the fresh juice and supplies it to the
customer.

Mackey, explaining the decision to launch the bespoke juice service, says: "There are no limitations on the list of ingredients that we
will work with. We have already developed a six-strong range of our own branded juices that includes blends of raw fruit and vegetables, including kale".

"Over the past few months, I've had many approaches at farmers'
markets and by email suggesting other blends. It made sense to
enable consumers to come up with their own recipes for us to
handcraft for them.
Mango Street is product-driven Social Enterprise (Community
Interest Company) which uses a combination of profits and products
to support various local organisations in Belfast that tackle issuessurrounding homelessness and food poverty.

"As a social enterprise, our chief purpose is to contribute to
making a positive difference to the daily lives of local people.
This transparency allows our customers and stockists to rest easy
knowing that by being good to themselves or stocking our products,
they are also helping people in need within their local community - a super-simple approach that allows everybody to benefit! As we
proudly say, this is business done differently."

The company's current range features unusual and zesty juice blends such as kale, cucumber, apple and ginger and beetroot, apple,
cucumber, mango, orange, apple, lemon and kiwi and ginger lemon and ginger, all of which are produced in 250ml glass bottles.

The juices are all ethically produced and do not contain any
preservatives or additives. The main ingredient is natural juice
from fresh fruits and vegetables that Mackey cold-presses by hand

He started the small business in November 2014 on the back of
experience gained juicing fruit and veggies over the past four
years. "I gave the juices to friends and relatives who provided
positive feedback. This encouraged me to start thinking in terms of setting up the business," he adds.
