Top M&S innovation for Linden Foods

Linden Foods, a leading Northern Irish meat processor, has won the
Marks & Spencer Best New Product Development Award for an innovativechicken burger.

Based at Dungannon in county Tyrone, Linden Foods gained the
prestigious award for a Coriander and Lemon Chicken Burger from M&S.Linden has a longstanding relationship with the top UK retailer
stretching back to 1995.

Gerry Maguire, managing director of Linden Foods, which is part of
Fane Valley, Northern Ireland's largest farmers' co-operative, says:"The idea behind this fresh and innovative new product was to createa wow factor that people would want to buy time and time again
throughout the summer.

"We chose to use chicken because it carries flavours well and standsout from all the beef burgers offered at this time of year. We
wanted to offer a tasty chicken product that was neither frozen nor covered in breadcrumbs.

"To win the Best New Product Development Award is a testament to ourvery talented team at Linden Foods. We set ourselves very high
standards and are extremely passionate about producing exciting,
flavoursome products that match the high expectations of the M&S
customer.

"The creativity and innovation and the use of global inspired
tastes, married with a great relationship with M&S has delivered a
very exciting burger for The Grill Range and it is great to be

Linden Foods is a now a major supplier of added-value beef, chicken and lamb products to M&S and has developed an innovative supply
chain programme with the retailer that includes the Northern IrelandCollege of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise.
