German deal for Just Live a Little breakfast granola

Gourmet breakfast cereals from Northern Ireland's Just Live a Little are now being enjoyed by families in Germany as a result of an agreement with Foodist, the Hamburg-based box delivery service.

Just Live a Little, an artisan business owned and run by husband and wife team David and Jill Crawford in Portaferry, county Down, is supplying Foodist with its popular Cranberry and Cashew Granola gourmet breakfast cereal.

Commercial director Jill Crawford, commenting on the deal with Foodist, says: "This agreement gives us a strong foothold in Germany, one of the biggest markets in Europe for gourmet products. We had been asked to supply our granolas in December for inclusion in a healthy box developed by Foodist for the German market.

"They subsequently came back to us with a request to supply the granola for their on-line store and main gourmet box, a more significant contract and another tremendous endorsement of the quality of our products by customers in what is among the most quality conscious of markets. It's a very exciting and health focused marketplace, one we have been focusing on for some considerable time."

Just Live a Little was formed in 2009 and now exports its granolas throughout the UK and in markets such as Hong Kong and South Korea.

Foodist specialises in gourmet delicacies which are ordered on line and delivered to upwards of 14,000 regular clients.

Each month, Foodist sends its customers an exclusive selection of international delicacies in the Foodist Box - the subscribers are surprised with a different selection each month. The company was formed in 2012 by three entrepreneurs - Alexander Djordjevic, Ole Schaumberg and Andreas Brandt - who raised significant support through a Companisto crowdfunding project in Germany.

In addition to the equity-based crowdfunding on Companisto, Foodist also gained fame through the VOX TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen"- Germany's Dragon's Den.
