Sweet and colourful treat for Christmas season
Melting Pot, Northern Ireland's award-winning producer of handmade fudge and other small batch confectionery, has introduced a range of products with different and gluten free flavours for the Christmas season.
The family-owned and managed company, based in Belfast, has launched three packs with two handmade fudge fingers. Each pack contains two 45g fingers, one of which in each pack is Traditional Butter Fudge along with a seasonal flavoured finger.
The seasonal flavours are After Dinner Mint Fudge, Rum Truffle Fudge and Spiced Clementine Fudge. The new products, available in colourful boxes reflecting the season, are designed for snacking particularly during the Christmas period, according to a company spokesperson.
Melting Pot is the gourmet confectionery brand developed by Blackthorn Foods in Belfast, a small business formed by sisters Dorothy Bittles, Cathy Johnston and Jenny Lowry in 2004. "We've developed the range for the Christmas season in response to requests from retailers for something different over the holiday period.
"We've chosen the flavours for the season and included these with our popular traditional butter fudge. All the products are handmade by us at our plant in east Belfast," she added.
The fudges, which are available throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland, other parts of Europe and the US are based on a longstanding family recipe. No additives, trans fats or preservatives are used and this produces high quality and deliciously tasty fudge.
All the fudges are handmade in open pots in the traditional way and are produced in small batches, hand beaten, hand cut and then wrapped. All the flavours are natural.
The company has also developed a range of non-dairy, soya-free and gluten-free fudges.
