Boatyard Gin in Savoy Hotel's American Bar

Boatyard Double Gin, the first product from The Boatyard Distillery in Northern Ireland, has been added to the menu of The Savoy's internationally renowned American Bar.

Boatyard Double Gin is a unique, award-winning gin produced near Enniskillen in county Fermanagh. Made with spirit from organically grown wheat, the gin uses a combination of organic botanicals, including 'sweet gale' taken from the owner's local family farm, to give the gin a distinctive smooth, flavourful and refreshing taste profile.

The American Bar, winner of Best International Bar Team 2016 at Tales of the Cocktail, and Best Bar in Europe (second in the world) at World's 50 Best Bars 2016, is one of the most iconic cocktail bars in the world.

Joe McGirr, chief executive of The Boatyard Distillery, says: "We are really excited to be working with one of the world's finest cocktail bars. To have our Boatyard Double Gin appear among a select few gins on the American Bar menu is a real achievement."

"Our presence on the American Bar menu will allow us to showcase our small-batch, premium Irish spirit to drinks enthusiasts from all over the world."

The Boatyard Distillery has a thriving on-trade business supplying its premium gin to an ever-increasing number of the UK's finest hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants and world-famous style bars. It has also recently won listings with Harrods in London and Celtic Whiskey Shop in Dublin.

Declan McGurk, Savoy Hotel American Bar manager adds: "We had a desire to add an Irish gin to the gin list and Boatyard's intense botanical note yet smooth style attracted us. By pure coincidence my parents live just miles away from the distillery in Fermanagh."

The Boatyard Distillery takes its name from a former boatyard that has been converted into a craft distillery overlooking the picturesque Lough Erne in Northern Ireland's picturesque Lakelands.

It is one of the first distilleries in the world to be accessible to visitors by both land and water with the ethos of producing farm-to-bottle spirits in one of the most beautiful locations in the world.
