
Digital tech award for Northern Irish food fraud specialist
Arc-Net, the Northern Irish developer of software to address food fraud, has won a major digital technology award.
Based in Belfast, Arc-Net won the "Best Start up' award at the recent Digital DNA event in the city. Digital DNA was created to promote business collaboration using the latest digital technology.
Kieran Kelly, founder and managing director of Arc-Net, commenting on the award, says: "We are delighted to have achieved this recognition at such an early stage of our development and our pioneering work on blockchain technology."
The technology business was established in 2014 by Mr Kelly, a data security engineer, in Belfast and now has technology centres in Scotland the US.
The company's unique blockchain technology strengthens the traceability and safety of food products 'from field to fork'.
Digital DNA was formed in Northern Ireland where a strong knowledge economy has attracted and created some of the leading technology companies in the world. The event attracts world renowned technology leaders.
