
Top UK industry award for Northern Ireland's Moy Park
Poultry processor Moy Park, Northern Ireland's biggest food company and among the region's most profitable enterprises, has been successful in the prestigious Meat Management Awards.
Moy Park, headquartered in Craigavon, county Armagh, gained the Best Chicken Product Award for Chicken Crown produced for Ocado, the UK's leading online retailer.
Another Northern Ireland headquartered company, Dunbia Group, the region's biggest meat processor, also gained the Best Lamb Product for a Sea Salt and Black Pepper Lamb Joint produced for Co-Op UK. Dunbia has a network of processing plants in the UK and Ireland.
The company's plant in Wales is a leading processor of lamb products. Dunbia is now part of a joint venture with Dawn Meats in the Republic of Ireland.
The Management Industry Awards, organised by the influential Meat Management magazine, celebrates the excellence and rewards the industry's best, as voted for by the readers of the magazine and judged by industry experts. The awards were presented at a gala event in Birmingham that brought together leading producers.
The awards, attended by over 400 industry professionals, are supported by many of the major players in the market and the black tie dinner is a highlight in the meat industry calendar.
Moy Park is Northern Ireland's only £1 billion plus business and a leading developer of poultry products for retailers throughout the UK. The company exports poultry products to Europe and further afield.
Moy Park employs 9,000 people and is currently owned by JBS, the Brazilian meat processor.
