Moy Park in Northern Ireland backs FareShare charity

Poultry processor Moy Park, Northern Ireland's biggest food business, has donated over 150,000 meals since teaming with FareShare in 2015.

The company, based at Craigavon in county Armagh, is Northern Ireland's only £1 billion plus business.

The milestone achievement comes after Moy Park contributed to tackling hunger by donating over 68 tonnes of fresh surplus chicken.

The donations were distributed across FareShare's network of 21 regional centres and reach homeless hostels, breakfast and lunch clubs, domestic violence refugees and community cafés across the UK.

"Moy Park is proud to be involved in such a worthwhile initiative with FareShare," commented Paddy Molloy, account manager at Moy Park.

"By working together, companies across the supply chain can make a difference to those in need and we are happy to support FareShare to put our surplus product to the best use possible. We believe it is important to engage with our local communities and, through our partnership with FareShare, to support the great work they do."

FareShare aims to tackle hunger by redistributing surplus food to charities that turn the goods into meals.
