The Barbican Gets a Taste for Suki Tea

The highly acclaimed and multi award-winning Suki Tea, which is based in Belfast, is thrilled with its latest prestigious listing - at The Barbican Centre, the largest multi-arts centre in Europe and the hub of London's cultural scene.

The Barbican is stocking Suki's six top-selling teas, both in loose tea format, as well as in pyramid 'tea bags', which the company introduced earlier this year to enable consumers to enjoy all the pure, natural flavour of leaf tea in a convenient and easy-to-use format in the home. Suki's teas went on sale at the Barbican in the last week of September at which time Oscar was on hand to demonstrate the art of making the perfect cup of tea to Barbican staff and consumers.

Commenting, Oscar Woolley, Director of Suki Tea, said: "This is a wonderful accolade for us - for Suki to be the tea of choice in the Barbican's new Lounge and Food hall is a great privilege, as we are listed on menus and available on-shelf alongside some of the world's finest and most celebrated produce, including the likes of Monmouth coffee, Severn & Wye smoked salmon, Garlic Farm relish, Hope & Green confectionery and Merguez sausages."

More recently, Suki attended the Lunch! Exhibition at the Old Billingsgate Market in London, where business was brisk according to Oscar . "Our stand was swamped for the two days and we received over 120 enquiries from interested stockists, primarily in the café trade, which we are currently following up on, with several notable successful listings already confirmed," he said.

Suki Tea has built its reputation as a loose tea specialist, sourcing the very best teas from the world's finest plantations, including Fairtrade and Organic suppliers, and blending them at its teahouse in Belfast. Since formation in 2005, Suki teas, of which there are now 40, have joined the menus of such renowned restaurants as Jamie Oliver's 15 restaurant in Cornwall, Rick Stein's restaurant in Padstow, Gallery Yumeori in Japan, the Intercontinental Hotel in Warsaw, Patisserie Valerie in London and Bourbon Café in Rwanda.
