Gourmet sausages from Northern Irish meat innovator
Hannan Meats in Northern Ireland has continued its development of innovative sausage flavours based on meats which have gained UK Great Taste Awards.
The award-winning meat processor, which is based at Moira in county Down, has introduced new Pastrami Brisket and Sugar Pit Brisket sausages to its existing range of premium meat products.
Both sausages have 67 percent meat and retail for around £3.20 for a pack of six sausages. The pastrami brisket sausage is based on the Northern Ireland company's UK Great Taste 3-star winning pastrami and also features black pepper, coriander and mustard seeds, and paprika.
The sugar pit brisket is based on the sugar pit bacon rib which was listed in the Top 50 Foods by an expert Guild of Fine Food judges in the recent Great Taste Awards and also gained three-stars in the same competition.
The new meat products follow the launch of Italian spicy and pork and apple sausages by the company, now the most decorated producers in the UK.
"What we are doing is to develop premium sausages and burgers that are convenient meal options using our award-winning meat for richer flavours," says Peter Hannan, founder and managing director of Hannan Meats. "These are gourmet sausages for a quick and delicious meal that use only our premium quality meats," he adds.
The latest products are made entirely by the company at its processing plant in Northern Ireland and developed by its own team of highly skilled and experienced butchers.
Hannan Meats, a pioneer in ageing beef and lamb in what is the world's biggest complex of Himalayan salt chambers and in developing bacon in a unique sugar pit, has twice won the coveted Supreme Champion title in the Great Taste Awards as well as a host of other awards, the most recent being a Blas na hEireann gold award for its sirloin steak.
The company is a major supplier of meat products to top chefs in Britain, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland as well as other parts of Europe.
