The Quiet Man Irish Malt Whiskey makes a noise in India

The Quiet Man Irish Whiskey in Northern Ireland has won its first business in India and is now on sale in 26 international markets.

The whiskey, which has its headquarters in Derry, has signed up with Mumbai-based distributor Flipsydee to market its whiskey, especially its award-winning 8-year single malt, throughout India.

The Quiet Man has become the fastest growing of Northern Ireland's new generation of whiskey distillers. The company is currently completing work on the first distillery in Derry for more than a century. The city was once the centre of Irish whiskey distilling.

Flipsydee is an importer of wide range of wine, beer and spirits brands from around the world. It is marketing The Quite Man as the first Irish single malt in India. The company provides end-to-end services across marketing and sales platforms and develops business growth solutions.

Michael Morris, The Quiet Man's commercial director, commenting on the breakthrough in India, says: "We are excited to have developed a position in what is a huge and growing market for spirits, especially Irish malt whiskey.

"Flipsydee had heard about our whiskey and approached us directly about marketing the malt across India. We decided to start with our successful and award-winning eight-year single malt. It's such a huge marketplace with great potential for our whiskey. We are supporting Flipsydee to help ensure success there," he adds.

The Quiet Man has also developed strong positions in the US and Russia, now the company's two biggest markets.

The whiskey has won a string of international awards including gold in the Irish Whiskey Masters held by the Spirits Business magazine to celebrate the distillers "adding zest to the country's whiskey offerings".

And there was also a gold for the company's Standard Blended Irish Whiskey. In addition, The Quiet Man 8-year old Single Malt gained a silver award.

The 8-year old malt, furthermore, gained gold at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
