FreeFrom Awards for Northern Ireland food and drink producers
Northern Ireland's Rule of Crumb collected three major titles in the FreeFrom Awards 2018.
Based at Antrim, Rule of Crumb, Northern Ireland's leading producer of free from foods, gained the following awards, presented at a gala occasion in London:
Gold in the Foods for Children category for its gluten and dairy free Chocolate Eclairs;
Silver in Desserts and Puddings for gluten and dairy free Chocolate Eclairs; and
Silver in Meaty and Fishy for its gluten and lactose free Chicken Kiev.
And there were awards for two other companies with operations in Northern Ireland. Bfree, which has a manufacturing base at Crossmaglen in county Armagh and won gold for its Oaty Loaf in the Breakfast category and bronze in Innovation for a Bake at Home Seeded Demi Baguette.
CocoMojo, headquartered at Lisburn in county Antrim, gained silver in Superfoods for its CocoMojo Chocolate Flavoured Drink with added Protein.
The FreeFrom Food Awards, the UK's only industry awards for freefrom food, were started in 2008 by FoodsMatter and FreeFrom Foods Matter to encourage innovation and celebrate excellence in the freefrom food industry.
The awards are entirely independent, supported by sponsorship and entry fees only. Winners are able to display the FreeFrom Food Awards logo certification.
The awards celebrate the innovation and imagination shown by the food industry in creating foods that are free of wheat, gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, soya, sulphites and other allergens.
Over the last eleven years the awards have become one of the most important fixtures in the freefrom year.
