Flavours of Abroad from top snack producer
Tayto, the Northern Ireland based producer of potato crisps and other snacks, has introduced a limited edition range of 'Tastes of Abroad' to its successful range of Rough Cuts.
The range, now on sale in supermarkets and convenience stores, has three flavours - the Eastern influenced Crispy Honey Chilli Chicken, American style Louisiana BBQ Steak and Arriba Arriba Mexicana, all priced at 69p per 47.5g bag.
The new flavours of ridged-cut crisps join the core range of Salt & Vinegar, Cheese & Onion and Chargrilled Beef.
Elly Hunter, Tayto marketing manager, says: "Crinkle cut crisps are a growing segment of the overall crisps market and Tayto Rough Cuts are now a popular choice for consumers seeking strong, punchy flavours and bigger eats.
"Our research has shown that our consumers enjoy trying new flavours, and innovation is at the heart of what we do at Tayto Crisps. In acknowledgement of the trend towards international foods and ingredients, we developed the new limited edition
'Taste of Abroad'.
"In addition, since our target market love to travel, we are running a fantastic on-pack promotion offering the chance to win a trip of a lifetime to Mexico, the US or China," she says.
The Rough Cuts range is popular with students and males aged between 18-25.
The new range is the outcome of extensive research and consumer trials.
"For instance, Crispy Honey Chilli Chicken marries the best of sweet and spicy oriental fusion, Arriba Arriba Mexicana bursts with the tasty heat of Mexican cuisine and Louisiana BBQ Steak is full of US-style BBQ flavours blended with seasoning from the deep South."
Based at Tandragee in county Armagh, Tayto has also launched new and innovative flavours across its crisp and snack ranges. A Chip Shop Curry variety has been added to its Small Fries, 69p for a 40g bag.
Tayto Handcrafted artisan range, launched last year, now includes two new gluten free snacks - Lightly Salted and Sweet Chilli & Roasted Red Pepper in 45g impulse packs.
