Pâté specialist wins Northern Ireland food award
Pâté specialist Morrow Foods has been named Food Manufacturer of the year in the third annual Food Northern Ireland Awards.
The family run and managed business, which is based in Cookstown, county Tyrone manufactures a range of chicken liver pâté for major retailers in Northern Ireland. It also produces soups, stews and broths.
The awards, organised by Creative Ocenaic, were announced at a gala event attended by 350 guests. The Food Awards Northern Ireland recognise the success of local professionals and establishments, such as top restaurants, gastro pubs, producers and chefs amongst others that do their bests to provide us with fresh dishes and unique flavours.
Other successful food companies were;
Fresh Produce Provider of the Year - Willowbrook Foods, Killinchy, county Down which is a leading supplier of bagged salads and convenience foods;
Northern Irish Food Producer of the Year - Deli Muru, Belfast, a producer of relishes, jams and cakes;
Wholesale Bakery of the Year - Slice of Heaven, Newtownards, county Down, a producer of desserts;
Retail Bakery of the Year - Bread and Banjo Bakery, Belfast, a home bakery;
Meat Supplier of the Year - Universal Meat Company, Portadown, county Armagh, meat products; and
Seafood Supplier of the Year- East Coast Seafoods, Ballyhornan, county Down, smoked salmon, fish and seafood pates.

The awards provided a platform to thank those that maintain the professional standard of the industry in Northern Ireland, whose work often remain unnoticed.
