New look for Long Meadow's award winning apple cider vinegar

Long Meadow, the award winning producer of apple juices and cider, has rebranded its apple cider vinegar with 'mother' and introduced a new bottle size.

The new size, a 500ml bottle, joins the family-run company's existing 750ml and 330ml sizes and is aimed to strengthen its market share in the growing demand for cider vinegar because its health benefits.

Based on an extensive apple farm at Loughgall in county Armagh, Northern Ireland's renowned orchard country, Long Meadow recently gained a Blas na hEireann Irish Food Award for its apple cider vinegar.

The company has also won UK Great Taste Awards for the produces it presses and bottles on the farm apples, including bramley apples, from its own orchards and those from neighbouring farms.

Catherine McKeever, who founded Long Meadow Cider in 2013 with husband Pat and other family members, says: "Our apple cider vinegar is among our most successful products and is benefiting from the current trend towards food and drink offering health benefits.

"Health conscious and other consumers are attracted to our apple cider vinegar because it's pure, unfiltered and retails the mother, the culture of beneficial bacteria that turns regular apple cider into vinegar in the first place," she adds.

The company, now among Ireland's most successful producers of apple cider, vinegar and juice, sells its products to retail and catering customers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Apple cider vinegar has been said to promote weight loss, reduce cholesterol, lower blood sugar levels and improved symptoms of diabetes.

In addition to apple cider vinegar, Long Meadow produces a range of ciders including popular fruit flavoured varieties.
