Jamie Oliver opts for Belfast design
Belfast-based Mette has supplied Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food (MOF) with a unique cookery demonstration workspace.
Jamie's MoF provides cookery classes for students, charities, cultural community groups, and the general public. Run by Zest Health for Life, Jamie's MoF Leeds has been operating for a year, and is extending its reach into the community by visiting schools and attending events.
"We're delighted to have attracted such high-profile clientele in a highly competitive industry," said Caroline Santos, Director, Mette Ltd. "They chose us because our industrial-standard design has a domestic feel which connects them with their audience."
Mette specialises in cutting-edge, design-led products for the food, drink and hospitality sector, and has created an exclusive modular system of interchangeable food and drink workspaces called Chop & Change, which includes a selection of preparation surfaces, storage, cooking and mobile water modules.
Chop & Change is suitable for both commercial and domestic use and can incorporate easily interchangeable branding or decorative panels. The first of its kind into the culinary marketplace, it is a trendsetter's piece, designed to industrial quality and standards with a domestic aesthetic to engage the larger audience.
Mette's diverse client list already includes cookery schools and councils to leading-edge hospitality operators.
The company uses Northern Ireland suppliers for its range of materials from steel, wood, granite and composites, and is a firm favourite with local industry leaders including Good Food NI, the newly-opened Belfast Cookery School and Balmoral Show, the region's biggest annual agriculture event.
Chop & Change puts its users at the centre of the design process, allowing them to decide what they want to use it for, and create their own bespoke setup and variations from the vast and growing range of modules available. It's designed with the long-term, changing needs of businesses in mind, giving them the flexibility to adapt, evolve, diversify and modify according to their changing needs throughout the day/week/month/year.
Essentially it allows professionals to create their own workspace according to their individual requirements, and modify it as often as they like. This level of autonomy and endless versatility is unique to the market.
The product range has many beneficial features which set it apart. Its cleverest feature is of course that the client designs it, and it is the only range of equipment which lets you change purpose as your business evolves.
