Rich Sauces - the healthier option for business

Rich Sauces, the Northern Irish specialist in premium quality sauces, mayonnaise and bouillon, is positioned to meet the growing demand for healthier foods that are low in salt, sugar and fat, dairy-free and also gluten-free.

The family-owned and managed business, a major supplier of products to foodservice organisations throughout the British Isles, Europe and the US, has a longstanding commitment to healthy products and has been using rapeseed oil, for instance, as a key ingredient for more than two decades.

Based in a state-of-the-art and accredited nut-free processing plant at Newtownards in County Down, Rich Sauces is planning a major marketing campaign which will feature social media to showcase its range of products for chefs and caterers seeking healthier ingredients for meals and snacks.

Tim Kells, marketing manager of Rich Sauces, says: "Demand for our products has been growing strongly as existing and potential clients recognise the benefits, for example for those with coeliac disease, as well as those individuals who are concerned about gluten, wheat and dairy.

"With budgets continually being stretched we are all more selective about where and why we spend our money. By promoting the health benefits, and dietary specific recipes that can be made with our sauces we aim to work with other businesses to make them a destination for quality, conscious customers in these tough times

"We've used rapeseed oil extensively because of its content on Omega 3,6,9 and Vitamin E and also because its versatile and is recognised as being a healthier alternative to olive oil especially when heated.

"Broighter Gold cold-pressed rapeseed oil is now being used extensively by top chefs in Northern Ireland and increasingly by high-end restaurants in the Republic of Ireland.

"Last year, for instance, £230 million was spent on products like gluten free bread and lactose free milk in the UK. Our products are also ideal for vegans, as well as being low in salt, sugar and fat, free from wheat and dairy. We will be highlighting these business features, particularly for our clients, through our marketing efforts.

"While we focus on these healthy benefits, taste remains at the heart of our approach to business.Only the finest natural ingredients go into our unique range of quality mayonnaise, sauces, dressings and bouillon," he adds.
