All Yours snacks in new deal to boost sales


Mackle Snack Foods in Northern Ireland has signed a new distribution deal as part of its strategic focus on growing sales of its All Yours brand rice clusters in Great Britain and Ireland.



Mackle, which has been making snacks at Dungannon, County Tyrone over many years, launched All Yours, a range of premium bite-sized, crispy rice clusters for healthier snacking. The company has signed a deal with LMI Foods, another Northern Irish business.



LMI is a major food distributor in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The link up follows a recent agreement between Mackle and Premier Partners of Oxford to distribute All Yours in Britain.



LMI, which is based at Antrim, has begun distributing the snacks in 22g pouches initially to convenience stores, garage forecourts and other retailers starting in Northern Ireland.Founded in 1975,LMI markets and distributes extensive portfolio of food and drink brands.



Mackle's sales developer Catherine McAlynn, says:"The agreement with LMI strengthens our market position in Northern Ireland and positions for growth in the Republic of Ireland, another target market. Our initial feedback suggests that 'All Yours' is meeting a market demand for healthier on-the-go snacks particularly among parents and health conscious individuals.



"We are currently implementing an aggressive strategy to grow the business throughout the British Isles.



"Our All Yours rice crisp clusters include healthy berries such as cranberries and blueberries with oats, covered in delicious yoghurt coating. It's a nutritionally balanced and conveniently packaged product range which now attracting attention is these markets and we are focused on expanding our retail network.



"The new product range is based on our vast experience in producing snacks which are healthier and offer greater nutritional values. We developed a snack product which has 30 per cent less fat than most standard children's snacks, is gluten free and does not contain hydrogenated fats, trans fats, preservatives or artificial ingredients.



"Our focus on organic products has been endorsed by the Organic Soil Association. It has also achieved BRC accreditation," she adds.



Mackle Snacks has produced private label snacks for retailers including Budgens and Londis in Britain over many years.



The new range is the outcome of extensive market research and discussions with key customers by the Northern Irish company that led to a major R&D project.



Existing extruded products developed by the company for retailers in Great Britain and Republic of Ireland include bacon fries, fried onion rings, salt and vinegar sticks and cheese puffs, produced in 100g and 25g packs.
