New lifestyle drink aims for healthy business growth
Belfast-based CocoMojo has developed a new lifestyle drink to meet growing consumer demand for natural energy drinks. The result is an exquisitely different beverage which blends coconut water, coconut milk, tropical fruits, aromatic spices and botanical herbs.
CocoMojo was created by Tricia McNeilly, a Northern Irish entrepreneur with broad experience in food and business development. The aim was to offer consumers an exciting new beverage for today's active and busy lifestyles.
The coconut based beverage is the outcome of extensive market research in Britain, Europe and the US, where it was introduced at this month's Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. The product is both dairy and gluten free and contains all natural invigorating ingredients. It was developed with assistance from beverage expert Maria Cabrera from Uren Food Group.
Whilst studying for a diploma in nutrition, McNeilly was struck by the remarkable health benefits of the coconut as a functional food. A passion for exotic flavours and health boosting ingredients influenced the CocoMojo recipe.
The drink has been trialled on the European golf tour (McNeilly's husband is a professional tour caddy) to positive acclaim.
McNeilly recognised the absence of a healthy alternative to sugar-laden energy drinks on the course. CocoMojo replenishes and revitalises, providing over 100 per cent of the RDA of Vitamin C and 31 per cent of the RDA of Niacin/B3.
"CocoMojo is the outcome of my work on the nutritional benefits of natural ingredients over the years, combined with extensive market research and consumer trials. The drink offers a unique taste and provides a healthy boost to mind, body and mojo. Coconut water, coconut milk, tropical fruits and turmeric root provide multiple health benefits.
"I am currently working with Dr Chris Ford and Professor Jackson of the University of Liverpool to verify these claims" says McNeilly.
CocoMojo's flagship product is an aseptic cold fill product to maintain nutrients and flavour. It will be available in 250ml on-the-go Tetra Prisma cartons, RRP approx £1.79.
The company has plans to roll out a portfolio of innovative natural beverages for key market segments in the near future.
