Champion deal for Unique Irish Goat's Cheese


Boilie, the unique Irish goat's cheese pearls from Fivemiletown Creamery in Northern Ireland, has been listed by caterers at Manchester United and will feature in the banqueting menu for the recent big match at Old Trafford with Chelsea.



The award winning cheese pearls will be used as an ingredient by chefs preparing meals for the Old Trafford restaurant. The contract, the most recent in a series of business successes forBoilie, a hand rolled soft cheese, was secured by Fivemiletown's North West distributor in Bolton.



Fivemiletown previously supplied its soft blue cheese, Ballyblue, for catering at Old Trafford.



The success at Old Trafford follows Fivemiletown's recent listing by online retailer Ocado for the range of Boilie goat's cheese pearls.



Owen Jones, Fivemiletown's sales manager in Britain, commenting on the inclusion of Boilie on the banqueting menu at Old Trafford, says: "This is a further example of the growing recognition of Boilie as the perfect ingredient for meals or for buffets. Boilieoffers a very rich and distinctive flavour that comes from our marinading process.



"It's great to see our cheese being featured by the UK's most successful team and current Premier League champions. It's a champion deal with the champions for a champion cheese!



"Many of the leading foodservice operations in Britain and further afield, including Gate Gourmet, are now using the cheese to produce deliciously different meals. Boilieis an extremely versatile cheese. Boilie, as with all our speciality cheese,is lovingly handcrafted by our team of experienced cheesemakers in county Tyrone," he adds.



Fivemiletown Creamery, established in 1898 as a farmers' cooperative in county Tyrone's lush Clogher Valley, has been selling dairy products in Britain since 1900.



The creamery employs 40 people and sources high protein milk from a network of local farmers.
