C&C Group sets up new customer centre in Belfast

Irish drinks business C&C Group is investing &pound1.2 million in a new Customer Support Centre in Northern Ireland that will also provide 25 new jobs.

The new centre will be based in the group's existing offices in Belfast, best known in Northern Ireland for a range of beverages distributed here by Tennents NI. The investment is a very substantial endorsement by this international group in Northern Ireland as a world class location for expert services.

It will provide quality employment opportunities in an economically disadvantaged area and across a broad range of professional support services that the group requires to ensure the continuing and profitable growth of its beer and cider brands in today's immensely competitive markets.

Tom McCusker, general manager of Tennents NI, says: "We are delighted that this important strategic investment is being made in Northern Ireland. Belfast was among a number of potential locations in Britain and the Republic that were evaluated by the group.

"Belfast emerged as the most suitable and best cost location because of the availability of skilled people here, a record of low staff turnover rates, a robust infrastructure particularly in terms of telecommunications and fast broadband, and the support package from Invest NI especially for employee training, the latter being an important focus for the group.

"Our intention is further significant investment in employees by means of a skills growth programme." he adds.

C&C Group has been offered assistance by Invest Northern Ireland towards the costs of this investment. Tennents NI currently employs 50 people in Belfast.

Formed in 1935 and headquartered in Dublin, C&C Group has operations in the Republic of Ireland, Great Britain, other parts of Europe and the US.
