Skinny Malinky's Juices to clean up in export markets

Skinny Malinky's Juices and Super Foods in Belfast has developed a range of healthy super foods including natural juice cleansers, aimed at international markets.

The small company has created a range of fruit and vegetable juice cleansers, smoothies, dips and soups which it is targeting for markets especially Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

The products and the business have been launched by Paula Heaney, an experienced marketer, who has worked in the organic food sector and been influenced by trends in California. Her portfolio of nine juices and four smoothies are for use as a healthy drink or as part of a body cleansing diet.

Miss Heaney says: "Skinny Malinky's Juices is the outcome of my longstanding interest in organic products including those that can be used to assist people recovering from illness or medical treatments.

"I've watched demand for juices to promote a healthier lifestyle grow steadily worldwide. It's a marketing opportunity that's also widening as more people are increasingly seeking convenient and concentrated ways to add essential nutrients to their diets.

"The juices, smoothies and soups that I've developed using my own recipes are made from fresh ingredients on a daily basis and are cold-pressed to preserve enzymes and vitamins."

The juice cleansers, she says, rid the body of unwanted toxins, give the digestive system a much needed rest and infuse the body with nutrients.

"Juicing fruit and vegetables separates the live enzymes, vitamins, minerals and naturally energizing sugars from the fibre. With the fibre separated the body does not need to 'stop' to digest the juice saving energy and giving the digestive system a rest.

"Instead all the nutrients are infused directly into the bloodstream and this blood gives vital organs essential nourishment. In turn this flood of nutrients replaces the toxins in the body and helps to excrete them, resulting in the body having more energy, feeling healthier, improved skin, nails, hair, eyes and even ailment repair." she adds.

She brings to her small business experience working with major organisations in New York and Dublin. The company has already attracted sales from outside Northern Ireland through her website and intends to focus on social media as a key marketing platform for the business.
