Rule of Crumb launches Easter lunch for frontline NHS staff

Rule of Crumb, a specialist gluten-free food supplier in Northern Ireland, has expanded its range to support frontline NHS staff during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The award-winning company, based in county Antrim, is to provide a traditional Easter Sunday Lunch for NHS frontline workers in the Greater Belfast Area. The meals will be provided to the staff or their families to enable them to enjoy a traditional Easter Sunday Lunch. 
 

Colum McLornan, a director Rule of Crumb, explains: “After working a 14/16 hour shift trying to save lives from Covid-19 over Easter, some NHS staff are faced with canteens closed or long queues at supermarkets.”

The company has set up a gofundme fundraising campaign to invite donations from the public towards the NHS Easter lunches. 100 percent of donations will go towards getting meals to hospital workers (including food, delivery costs and payment processing fees). 

“We are collecting funds to pay for these meals which we will then deliver to the NHS staff / family homes.  Due to our delivery radius - currently we will only be able to deliver to the Greater Belfast areas,” Mr McLornan adds.
 

The delivery box includes either four portions of turkey / beef with seasonal vegetables and creamy mash potatoes plus four desserts. Each delivery household will receive two portions of chocolate torte and two portions of Cheesecake. Currently, it’s not possible to order less than four main course portions or adjust the number and type of desserts, so for households of two this can provide food for two days.

“The main course is either traditional turkey and ham roast with stuffing which is served with creamy mash, seasonal vegetables and topped with a red wine gravy.

“Alternatively, a customer can have Irish roast silverside of beef which is served with creamy mash, seasonal vegetables and topped with a red wine gravy,” he adds.
