Top Nisa supplier award for Northern Ireland’s Dunbia

Dunbia, the leading Northern Ireland headquartered meat processor, has been named ‘Best Fresh and Frozen Supplier 2020 in the annual Nisa Supplier Awards. The virtual event covered both suppliers and retailers.

The awards acknowledge suppliers for their “exceptional levels” of service to the retailer over the past 12 months. Nisa has a retail network of almost 4,000 stores across the United Kingdom.

Headquartered in Dungannon, county Tyrone, Dunbia is Northern Ireland’s biggest meat processor with processing operations in other UK regions.

Dunbia, part of Ireland’s Dawn Meats since 2017, is a major supplier of quality meat products to Nisa stores throughout the UK. It was established by brothers Jim and Jack Dobson in 1976 and now exports meat to around 50 countries.

Nisa is a £1.45 billion turnover company which provides benefits to around 1,400 partners, operating almost 4,000 stores, and provides every service that an independent needs to survive and grow in the grocery marketplace.

Founded in 1977, Nisa’s mission is to be the partner of choice for retailers and wholesalers. In May 2018 the Co-op completed its acquisition of Nisa Retail Limited. The wholesale operation will provide an environment in which independent retailers.

This enhanced buying capability, allowing Nisa Partners to trade their businesses in the way they choose, backed by competitive prices and promotions with access to a deeper range including a wide selection of Co-op’s award-winning, high-quality own brand products across all categories. Dunbia is also a leading supplier to Co-op.
