Authentic sauce specialist launches new pickled peppers

PEPPUP, the Northern Ireland producer of authentic Italian sauces and ketchup, has launched two original products especially for the upcoming Christmas season.

The two new products are mild baby peppers and a mix of roasted red and yellow peppers. Both are pickled in a light wine vinegar and available in glass jars – the baby peppers in 340g and roasted peppers in 450g.

Dr Luca Montorio, the founder and managing director of PEPPUP, which is based at Newtownards in county Down, describes the two new products as “natural and tasty alternatives for any occasion and especially for sandwiches, other snacks and as a starter for meals”.

He continues: “The exciting new range is in line with our longstanding company philosophy of developing natural foods that are simple and free from allergens and fat.”

PEPPUP was formed by Dr Montorio, originally from Turin, Italy, and wife Liz in 2014 from their family home in Portaferry, county Down.

The initial products he developed were the roasted pepper and tomato ketchup and pasta sauces, which are now on sale in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. The range includes vegan, dairy free, gluten free options and without any added sugar.  The products are 100 percent plant based and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

The innovation-focused company has since launched successfully Bolognese sauces and a dipping sauce in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The new products extends the PEPPUP range to 10.

All the company’s original products are based on original recipes developed by Dr Montorio and were influenced by his upbringing in Turin, where his parents still live.

PEPPUP’s range of sauces and ketchups are selling successfully in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland through distributors and leading retailers.

Dr Montorio has developed the unique recipes for his portfolio of authentic Italian sauces which have won multiple UK Great Taste Awards and Free From Ireland awards.
