New business with Iceland for Northern Ireland’s Millar Moo

Clarke Millar Foods has won its first significant business in the Republic of Ireland with a deal to supply an innovative drink product to a leading retailer there.

Based at Dunmurry in county Antrim, near Belfast, Clarke Millar Foods is now supplying its products to Iceland-Ireland.

The enterprising Northern Ireland company, owned and run by experienced food entrepreneur Clarke Millar, has secured first business for its Millar Moo milk-based beverage with Iceland.

Iceland-Ireland has around 30 stores in the Republic stores and has just listed three Millar Moo flavours – Banana, Chocolate and Strawberry.

Mr Millar, commenting on the new business, says: “The Republic of Ireland is an important market for us and one I’ve been targeting for some considerable time by contacting key retailers there about our product range.

“Winning business with such an important retailer as Iceland-Ireland is a very substantial boost which gives us a significant foothold in the market and a reach across the country.

“Buyers in Iceland sampled our products and were impressed with their quality, taste and convenience. Our Millar Moo drinks are richly flavoured and environmentally-friendly due to our use of recyclable glass bottles.

The company has also recently gained significant business in Britain through a deal with discounter Poundland for its Millar Moo range.

Mr Millar formed the company in 2012 to manufacture convenience foods in particular and also to provide contract manufacturing and distribution services to other producers.

He has developed a successful track record in convenience foods with his Mulligan’s branded burgers, hot dogs and his wraps including a chicken variety which recently secured business with Sainsbury’s in Northern Ireland.

Many of his products including wraps and Millar Moo have also been listed by the Henderson Group, operator of Spar and Eurospar in Northern Ireland.
