Invest NI Virtual GB & ROI Chef Showcase

In response to Covid 19, Invest NI continues to host virtual events to support Northern Ireland’s Food and Drink industry to attract buyers. Over the last year Invest NI has supported over 50 suppliers to showcase products to 150 GB & ROI based buyers.

As we slowly emerge out of lockdown and food service operators (restaurants, hotels) across GB and ROI to open their doors, Invest NI hosted its 6th virtual food and drink showcase and introduce new innovations to over 30 GB & ROI based Michelin star chefs and media.

Guests included a veritable who’s who of the culinary world across the island of Ireland including Jess Murphy, Kai Galway; JP McMahon, Aniar Galway; Carmel McGirr, MacNean House, Blacklion; Eric Mathews Chapter One, Dublin and Mike Tweedie, Adare Manor. The GB culinary scene was represented by Roopa Gulati, Sam Evans, Luke MacKay, Maria Elia and Merrilees Parker.  

At the helm from her home kitchen in Portstewart was Paula McIntyre who cooked up an inspirational menu using Himalyan salt aged lamb, picanha steak and sugar pit bacon chop from Hannan Meats; Balsamic pearls from Burren Balsamics; Smoked Butter from Abernethy Butter; Hickory Smoked rapeseed oil from Broighter Gold; Lough Neagh Eel; Kearney Blue Cheese from Farmview Dairies NI; Black garlic and porcini salt and recently launched picked gooseberries from Craic Foods and Elderflower Cider from Tempted Cider and Chakalaka sausage from Hellbent.
