Northern Irish Peanut Butter Brand Taste Joy wins at Great Taste Awards

Coleraine, Northern Ireland - Taste Joy, a tiny peanut butter company started by a couple based on the North Coast, has scooped up 3 stars between two core flavours at this year’s Great Taste Awards.

Taste Joy’s ‘Smooth’ and ‘Crunchy’ flavours were awarded two and one of the prestigious stars respectively at this year's Great Taste awards. Judges raved about the Smooth peanut butter, describing it as: ‘pure, clean and singing of quality roasted peanuts … a product made with great finesse’ while the Crunchy was praised as tasting: ‘authentic in a way big brands don't’.

Founders Callum and Tara Joy said: 'To win these Great Taste stars for our Smooth and Crunchy offerings is a brilliant achievement. There were 14,195 entries this year - and far less than half of those receive any stars at all, so we’re thrilled. We make every jar of peanut butter by hand - just the two of us, in our little unit in Coleraine - but moments like this make all the hard work worthwhile.'

Taste Joy began in 2016 when Callum presented a homemade jar of peanut butter to Tara after their first date. Since then, their artisanal peanut butter brand has gone from strength to strength, winning a clutch of food awards including Gold for Crunchy in 2020 and ‘Best in County’ and Gold and Bronze for Crunchy and Smooth respectively in 2021 at the prestigious Irish Food Awards.

Taste Joy is available at independent cafes, restaurants, deli’s and retailers throughout Northern Ireland and Ireland, and also online at tastejoyco.com
